Those responsible for pipe bomb show no regard for local community

9 December, 2008

Sinn Féin Councillor for West Belfast Gerard O Neill has stated today that those responsible for leaving a pipe bomb at a home in Lenadoon need to realise that the community does not want these type of attacks to occur and that they need to stop.

Speaking today Mr O Neill said:

"While it is not yet known what group or individual may have been responsible for leaving this device, what is known is that they were left in a busy, built up area and had it detonated the injuries to local people could have been very serious.

"I am making it clear to those responsible that the community does not want this and those behind it need to stop. Whoever left this pipe bomb needs to consider their actions. In leaving this device they have shown no regard for the wider community."
