Support for carbon neutral motion – Sinn Féin
Sinn Féin MLA and Environment spokesperson Daithí McKay has today welcomed a motion in the Assembly today calling for all buildings used by the assembly to become carbon neutral by the year 2015.
Speaking after the debate today Mr McKay said,
"I welcome this joint motion from the DUP and the Green Party here in the Assembly. It makes a refreshing change for the DUP to actually take a 'green' stand and raise issues like this in the Assembly as opposed to the anti-green stand adopted by DUP Minister Sammy Wilson.
"The merit of this motion is to be commended and I would indeed call for all large businesses and organisations, including government, to look at what role it can play in helping our environment and working to make our places of work and living more carbon neutral." CRÍOCH
