Sinn Féin Slam bomb hoax at Cookstown office
Sinn Fein MLA for Mid Ulster Francie Molloy has slammed the bomb hoax at the Sinn Féin Cookstown constituency office. A call was received this morning informing staff of a bomb being left out the back of the office.
Speaking today Mr Molloy said:
"This morning a bomb threat was phoned in to a member of staff at the Cookstown constituency office stating a bomb had been left at the back of the office. This is just the latest in series of loyalist threats and attacks against Sinn Féin in the Cookstown area. We have seen attacks against our councillors and our offices by loyalists in recent weeks.
"Sinn Féin will not be deflected from the work that we are carrying out representing people on the ground with issue that affect them on a daily basis and working towards our goal of Irish unity.
"Those carrying out these attacks have nothing to offer our society and there is an onus on all political and civic leaders to challenge those who want to drag us back to the past or inflame sectarian tension
"In particular I would urge unionist representatives in the area to use any influence they have to help put an end to these attacks and come out vociferously against them."
