Sinn Féin MLA Francie Brolly has called on parents to be vigilant following an indecent attack on two young girls in the Dungiven area.

Speaking today Mr Brolly said:

"This attack has provoked outrage throughout Dungiven. The fact that two young girls of 10 and 11 years of age have been indecently assaulted is distressing and we are all very glad the two girls were able to break free and get away from the assailant.

"I'm quite sure the people of Dungiven would view the town as somewhere where this kind of attack would never happen due to the close knit nature of the community.

It's a community where everybody looks out for each other.

"I would urge people and families to be vigilant following this attack. Obviously whoever was responsible is still at large and if anybody has any information they should bring it forward to the PSNI immediately." CRIOCH
