Disappointment at HG Wilson decision - Adams

8 January, 2009 - by Pat Sheehan

West Belfast MP Gerry Adams has expressed his "deep disappointment at the decision by HG Wilson to cut 75 jobs at its west Belfast plant".

Mr. Adams described the decision as "a serious blow to the west Belfast economy."

The west Belfast MP said:

"The decision by HG Wilson in the north and the Dell announcement in Limerick are evidence of the global economic crisis. Nonetheless every effort must be made by the governments to protect existing employment, provide retraining for workers who lose their jobs and identify potential new employers." ENDS
