Sinn Fein to launch billboard campaign in support of Gaza
Sinn Féin MLA's and Councillors from Belfast will gather tomorrow to launch a billboard campaign in support of the people of Gaza. The Billboards will be launched at the site of Andersonstown Barracks at 11am, tomorrow, Wednesday the 13th January. Gerry Adams, MP for the area will also be in attendance.
Speaking ahead of the event Jennifer McCann, MLA for West Belfast said:
"The situation in Gaza is dire and ongoing. There seems to be no let up in the suffering of the people of Gaza. We have seen over the past two weeks people from all sections of our community add their voices to the international calls for an immediate ceasefire.
"Sinn Féin is once again calling for an immediate end to attacks on all civilians; we are calling for a ceasefire and an immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces. It is also essential that urgent aid to be allowed into Gaza with unimpeded access throughout the Gaza Strip.
"As the humanitarian crisis continues Sinn Fein will be rolling out events to press for and highlight these demands at all levels, and in whatever sphere of influence we can access."
