S.W.A.R.D opens for Business – good news for rural communities
The new rural support organisation, S.W.A.R.D (South West Action for Rural development), which will deliver European funding to farms and non farming rural dwellers is open for business.
SWARD is the delivery mechanism for the Rural Development Programme (2008-2013) within the council areas of Magherafelt, Cookstown, Dungannon and Fermanagh.
Welcoming this new development, Sinn Fein Mid Ulster MLA and member of the Assembly Agriculture and Rural Development Committee Francie Molloy said:
"Those with ideas on farm business or diversification within the rural area should contact the S.W.A.R.D. office in Cookstown. This is an important development and will create opportunities for new business and improvements.
"It will also open opportunities for projects in tourism and village renewal within the rural areas of Magherafelt, Cookstown, Dungannon and Fermanagh.
"This is probably the last time that the EU will provide this type of funding in the North so it is vital that those with ideas in this field make an application for consideration.
"If there is any assistance that we in Sinn Fein can provide, please contact any of our offices in Gulladuff, Cookstown or Coalisland." ENDS
