Gerry Adams to launch Drug awareness pamphlet tomorrow
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams will formally launch a drugs awareness and information pamphlet in Ballyfermot on Friday, 6th February. Mr. Adams will be joined by Dublin MEP Mary Lou McDonald and local Sinn Féin representatives, Councillor Louise Minihan and Aengus Ó Snodaigh TD, who produced the pamphlet. The launch will take place at Ballyfermot Civic Centre on Ballyfermot Road at 11am.
Speaking in advance of the launch Sinn Féin spokesperson for Justice, Equality and Human Rights Aengus Ó Snodaigh TD said, "This pamphlet is the first in a series of information pamphlets Sinn Féin will be producing for distribution to parents and community groups across the country.
"The pamphlet we are producing tomorrow is an introduction to make both parents and young people aware of the dangers of illegal drugs and the tell-tale signs of abuse. It also provides a list of contact details for local support services, addiction treatment centres, counselling services and the new Dial To Stop Drug Dealing free phone line.
"This pamphlet will be followed by further helpful pamphlets on alcohol abuse, gambling and dealing with personal debt." ENDS
Tomorrows launch will be one of a number of engagements Gerry Adams will be undertaking in the South of the City.
