Toiréasa Ferris to argue for job Creation in Visit to Limerick City
EU Candidate, Toiréasa Ferris, will be in Limerick tomorrow to see at first hand the devastation caused by the collapse of the Irish economy and to argue for the adoption of a job creation strategy by the government. On her visit, Toiréasa Ferris will visit the employment exchange and the FAS headquarters in the city, as well as showing solidarity with the Curran Aluminium strikers, Roxboro. "The government needs to get away from their obsession with cutting peoples wages and conditions and look at getting the economy moving again and thereby raising additional revenue." said Toiréasa Ferris. "There is a need for a job maintenance and creation strategy and there is a need for the state to now take a real role in our telecommunications infrastructure and our gas resources, given the failure of private companies to enhance our economy in those areas"
