DARD launches Postgraduate Research Awards 2009

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) today announced the annual Postgraduate Agriculture and Food Research Awards for the academic year beginning October 2009.

Applications must be received by 5.00pm on Friday 13 March 2009.

DARD will award up to eight studentships for full-time research, leading to a PhD qualification. For 2009 we have identified priority research themes and potential project areas which will enhance our agriculture, food and rural sectors in the future. We will give preference to applications within our research priorities.

Late applications cannot be considered by the Department.

  1. Completed forms should be sent to: Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Education and Finance Branch, Room 555, Dundonald House, Upper Newtownards Road, Belfast BT4 3SB to be received no later than 5.00pm on Friday 13 March 2009. References should be supplied by Friday 27 March 2009.
  2. There will be an initial selection (sift) to identify project proposals which meet the priority research themes. Successful candidates will be interviewed.
  3. Interviews will be held on 20, 21 & 22 April 2009.
