Morgan to address roundtable conference on Sellafield in London
Sinn Féin spokesperson on the Environment, Heritage and Local Government Arthur Morgan T.D. will tomorrow, Friday 13th February, address a roundtable conference on Sellafield in London. The conference has been organised by the Norwegian based Bellona Foundation and will also be addressed by Børge Brende, Norwegian Minister of Environment, Asmund Kristoffersen, Chairman of the Nordic Council Environment and Natural Resources Committee and Frederic Hauge, Director of the Environment Foundation Bellona.
Deputy Morgan will give on Irish perspective on the ongoing campaign to have Sellafield closed. Prior to his departure for London he stated:
"It is vital that all governments, communities and organisations who wish to have the reprocessing plant at Sellafield closed, co-operate and work together to ensure a safer future for us all. I am pleased to have the opportunity to address this conference which will undoubtedly play a significant role in advancing efforts to increase cooperation on this issue and bring about the closure of the environmental monstrosity that is Sellafield."
