Sinn Féin to hold adjournment debate on Visteon
Sinn Féin west Belfast MP Gerry Adams, who has worked closely with the Visteon workers since the closure of the plant at the end of March, commenting this evening on speculation surrounding the Visteon Plant said:
“I understand that Visteon UK have put a new and improved offer in respect of redundancy to the workers.
The Belfast plant, whose trade union representatives led the negotiations with the management this week, will meet on Sunday and decide their response.
There remain serious outstanding matters, including the very important issue of pensions which many workers have contributed to for years.
Next Tuesday I am sponsoring an adjournment debate in the Assembly on Visteon which will provide an opportunity to highlight the shameful treatment of the workforce by Visteon and Ford.
