Anderson encourages local firms to take advantage of new help fund.

Foyle MLA, Martina Anderson is encouraging local manufacturing and tradable services businesses in the North West to take advantage of the fund announced by Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster to support businesses experiencing difficulties.
Martina Anderson said:
"I welcome this announcement and will work with any business in the North West that is eligible to ensure that no more manufacturing jobs are lost in the Foyle constituency. It is essential that manufacturing in the North West does not lose any more capacity. Over the last decade and more we have experienced a steady haemorrhaging of manufacturing jobs out of this region. That must not be allowed to continue.
"This fund is designed specifically to enable businesses in the manufacturing and tradable services to retain key staff during a time of economic difficulties. Qualifying companies will be able to receive support of up to approximately £450,000 at current exchange rates, enabling them to retain key staff while they plan and restructure for the future.
"I would encourage local companies who feel that they would be eligible for this assistance to submit applications as soon as possible. If you are experiencing short term financial difficulties that would otherwise result in redundancies you may be able to obtain grants for salaries to maintain key skilled posts, participate in Further and Higher Education training, in-house up skilling, and other company infrastructure improvements.
