No acting the goat on King Puck - Gildernew
Sinn Féin Agriculture and Rural Development Minster Michelle Gildernew MP MLA has stated that the goat at the centre of the Puck Fair’s 'King of the Fair' event in Killorgan, Co Kerry will get to the festival on time.
Speaking today Ms Gildernew said;
“The Puck Fair in Killorgan had requested that the goat travel from the north to take its place as King of the Fair. However there were concerns around the processing of the animal health certificates for export to the south which will now hopefully be resolved in time.
“The Mayor of Moyle Council, Cara McShane, after being approached by a constituent was in contact with myself and I am glad to say that the King of the Fair should be arriving on time for the festival.
“Given the distance the goat has to travel and considering its welfare its is proper to ensure that the appropriate steps are taken and its my understanding that Mayor McShane will personally deliver directly the relevant forms to the parties concerned and all will be sorted. So in all there’s no acting the goat on this issue. “
