McGuinness congratulates Keystone Group's new European business orders
Deputy First Minister and Mid-Ulster MP Martin McGuinness has congratulated Keystone Group of Cookstown following its success in expanding its market with new orders secured in Romania and the Netherlands.
Mr McGuinness said:
"The Keystone Group which manufactures steel lintels and roof windows for the construction Industry displayed the initiative required when faced with adversity. Rather than accept the general view that the global economic downturn has closed the door to expansion, at least in the short-term, Keystone seen it as a challenge. Supported by Invest NI and the European Regional Development Fund they turned their focus to research and development (R&D) of new products and seeking new markets for its products.
"With a management and workforce working in support of each other Keystone has demonstrated the benefit of R&D in expanding its appeal to new markets and I would encourage other SME's to examine ways and means whereby they may be able to do likewise. The success of Keystone confirms that, even in this global economic downturn, there are new markets to be accessed and advice and support available to companies who have a project and strategy to deliver it.
"I congratulate, Eithne Kelly, General Manager of the Keystone Group and all concerned on their vision, determination and success. I have no doubt that these qualities will see continued success for the Keystone Group in the years ahead.
