Dooley would be better talking to public rather than listening to Cowen – Doherty
Responding to Timmy Dooley TD this evening Sinn Féin Senator Pearse Doherty said:
'With less than four weeks to go before the Lisbon Treaty referendum there is a responsibility on all politicians to inform people on the content of the Treaty and provoke debate on it's consequences for Ireland and the EU.
“Sitting in the Oireachtas Committee on European Affairs preaching to the converted so close to referendum day is not the best way to do this.
“Deputy Dooley would be better placed going out and talking to the electorate rather than sitting in Leinster House listening to Brian Cowen. Maybe then Deputy Dooley and his Fianna Fáil colleagues in government would not be so out of touch with public opinion.” ENDS
