Sinn Féin meeting to be briefed on progress policing negotiations and on TDs plans to fight cuts
Sinn Féin Chief Negotiator Martin McGuinness will tomorrow brief a large gathering of Sinn Fein party activists on the successful conclusion of negotiations around a financial package from the British Government to support the transfer of Policing and Justice powers from Britain to the North.
The meeting which will be attended by Sinn Fein representatives and members from across the island will also receive a briefing from the party's Dáil leader Caoimhghin Ó Caolain regarding plans by the party's TD's to continue to represent as forcefully as possible the widespread public opposition to NAMA which commences committee stage tomorrow.
Ó Caolain will present the meeting with an outline of plans to fight cuts to social welfare and public services and to bring forward alternative budget proposals which focus on stimulating the economy.
The Sinn Fein meeting takes place at the Carrickdale Hotel, Co. Louth from 6pm.
