Thousands of North side homes without water
Sinn Féin Vice-President Mary Lou McDonald has called on Dublin City Council to get its act together to restore running water to thousands of homes across the North side of the city which have been cut off today.
Ms. McDonald has said that many pensioners who have been isolated in their homes over the past number of weeks due to the bad weather are now without water.
Speaking today Ms. McDonald said:
“The City Council really needs to step up to the plate here and ensure that running water is restored to all homes across the North side as early as possible.
“It is a completely unacceptable situation that people would be left without running water.
“Many pensioners, who have been isolated in their homes over the past number of weeks due to the bad weather, are now without water.
“I appreciate that the Council are under serious pressure at the moment but the need to get their act together and rectify this situation immediately.
“I have been out helping out in Cabra today and the situation is dire. I can only imagine that it is as bad in other areas.” ENDS
