Sinn Féin to launch proposals to tackle youth unemployment
Sinn Féin Senator Pearse Doherty will launch his party’s proposals for creating jobs for the young unemployed at a press conference in Buswell’s Hotel on Friday. The party is to embark on a major campaign to put pressure on the Government to tackle the problem of youth unemployment.
The document, Solutions to Youth Unemployment, sets out a number of costed proposals to develop key Irish industries and to invest training and upskilling of Ireland’s young unemployed to meet the needs of a changing economy.
The campaign will be a major priority for party activists over the coming months with activities taking place throughout the 26 Counties.
The launch will take place in Buswells Hotel on Molesworth Street this Friday, 19th March 2010. Senator Doherty will be joined at the launch by Councillors Matt Carthy (Monaghan), Cathal King (South Dublin) and Kathleen Funchion (Kilkenny).
