McDonald demands answers over missing DDDA files

21 May, 2010

Sinn Féin representative for Dublin Central Mary Lou McDonald has demanded immediate answers to the revelation that records of meetings of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority have apparently gone missing. The files relate to decisions made in relation to the Irish Glass Bottle site which will potentially amount to a loss of millions of Euro to the taxpayer.

McDonald said:

“It beggars belief that the records of meetings held around the time this disastrous deal were made are unable to be found. The authority’s decision to invest in the site while former Anglo Irish bank director Sean Fitzpatrick was a member raises serious questions.

“To any observer, it would appear patently obvious who the beneficiaries of this deal were. And considering the track record of Anglo, Fitzpatrick and others, it is simply not good enough to claim that decisions were not recorded or that the minutes have conveniently vanished."
