Sinn Féin welcomes resolution for McErlane family following ASDA meeting

Sinn Féin Representative Niall Ó Donnghaile (East Belfast) and Gerry Kelly MLA (North Belfast) have welcomed today’s meeting between members of the McErlane family and Chief Executives of ASDA.

Both Niall and Gerry held a meeting with McErlane family in Stormont on Monday.

Speaking today Mr Kelly said;

“I am glad that today’s meeting between the McErlane family and senior representatives from WALMART, the company who own ASDA, took place.

I commend once again the dignity and courage shown by the McErlane’s over the course of recent days and weeks.”

Mr Ó Donnghaile added;

“Following today’s meeting I have spoken with members of the McErlane family who are content with the outcome. They are deserving of our utmost respect for the position they have taken during the course of this issue.

It is good news that they can now move on, contented after the meeting today with the most senior executives from ASDA who flew in to meet them.” CRÍOCH
