Anderson To host European delegation in Derry
A leading delegation from the Special European Union Programmes Body (SEUPB) will be in Derry tomorrow August 24th to discuss funding for the community and voluntary sector, Foyle Sinn Féin MLA Martina Anderson has said.
Ms. Anderson commented: “I recently invited Mr. Maurice Maxwell, the European Commission’s representative in the North to come to Derry to brief local ventures on the opportunities that exist in terms of European support and funding streams.
“As a follow-up to that very productive engagement, I also gave a commitment to invite senior representatives of the Special European Union Programmes Body (SEUPB) to hold a similar meeting.
“The SEUPB’s main role is to manage cross-border European Union Structural Funds on an all-Ireland basis and they are currently responsible for the PEACE III and INTERREG IVA Programmes.
“I am pleased to confirm that SEUPB Chief Executive Pat Colgan and Director Howard Keery have accepted my invitation to come to the city in order to provide help and assistance to local organisations in terms of European funding.
“This meeting will take place tomorrow August 24th in the Gasyard Centre at 2pm. It is open to all but I would particularly urge those in the community and voluntary sector and anyone involved in Peace III and INTERREG programmes to attend.” CRÍOCH
