Adams to address major Uniting Ireland Rally
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams, alongside newly elected TD for Donegal south-west Pearse Doherty, will launch a cross border initiative “Bridging the Border-Reconnecting Communities” at a Uniting Ireland Rally on Monday 29th November in the Westenra Arms Hotel in Monaghan town at 7.30pm on the 90th Anniversary of the partition of Ireland.
The initiative, aimed at identifying and tackling social and economic issues along the border corridor, will be lead by Sinn Féin Mayors and Chairs from across Ulster.
The Mayors and Chairs will be tasked with liaising with local stakeholders and bringing back a report on how we address these issues.
Also in attendance will be Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD, Michaela Boyle (Chairperson Strabane District Council) Stephen Huggett (Chairperson Fermanagh District Council) Declan McAleer (Chairperson Omagh District Council) Padraig MacLochlainn (Mayor of Buncrana District Council) Mary Doyle (Chairperson Armagh District Council) Michelle O’Neill (Chair of Dungannon District Council) Cora Harvey (Donegal County Council) John McNamee (Cookstown District Council), Mick Murphy (Newry and Mourne) Jackie Crowe (Monaghan Town Council)
There will be a photo call of all elected representatives at 7.30pm in the Old Town Hall Function room.
