Ó Donnghaile lobbies Roads Service for urgent gritting

3 December, 2010

Sinn Féin Representative for Pottinger Niall Ó Donnghaile has spent this morning liaising with Roads Service seeking urgent gritting in Short Strand after a number of requests from residents in the area.

Speaking this afternoon he said;

“I have contacted Roads Service this morning seeking urgent gritting after residents in the Short Strand raised concerns with me about safety given the snowfall and ice over the last few days.

We have ensured that numerous streets in the Strand have been added to the secondary gritting list and will continue to lobby the Roads Service on this issue.

Sinn Féin activists are ready to help distribute the grit throughout the area.

I will continue to liaise with Roads Service over the coming days and press them on their obligations to ensure people are provided with as much help and assistance as possible.

If people require assistance they shouldn’t hesitate to get in contact with our office on 02890243194.”
