O'Neill expresses support for family of Liverpool deathrider victim

19 January, 2011 - by Michelle O'Neill

Sinn Féin MLA Michelle O'Neill has again offered her sympathy and support to the family of Andrew O'Neill today as they come to terms with the verdict and sentencing of the deathdriver who killed him while a student in Liverpool.

Michelle O'Neill said
"Andrew, who was killed at the hands of deathriders had so much to live live for and so much still to explore. But he was robbed of his young life in November last when those individuals convicted today drove into him and killed him in Liverpool where he was attending university.
"Andrew's family has expressed the view that the sentence was too lenient and that the apology from David Gaskell was crocodile tears to have his sentence reduced. I can empathise with their point of view.
"My thoughts and prayers are with the O'Neill family as they try to pick up the pieces of their lives after what has been a nightmare two months for them."
