Adams congratulates Kilkenny marchers
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams has congratulated eight men who marched from South Kilkenny to Dublin in protest at the lack of job opportunities available to young people in Ireland.
The men, who began their march on January 18th, reached the gates of Leinster House at around 2pm this afternoon.
Commenting on the protest, Gerry Adams said:
“These men represent the true spirit of Ireland which stands in stark contrast to actions of the polite elite and golden circle of bankers and speculators who have bankrupted the state and handed over sovereignty to the IMF and EU.
“It is time that ordinary citizens made a stand. The Kilkenny marchers have shown the way.” ENDS
