Sinn Féin comment on Grosvenor Road security alert

28 March, 2011 - by Fra McCann

Sinn Fein’s Fra McCann has hit out at those responsible for causing a security alert today on the Grosvenor Road. The area is currently sealed off and widespread disruption is being caused to the local community.
Mr McCann said:
“Earlier this morning the PSNI moved in to seal off an area close to the main Grosvenor Road. This area is a main arterial route and is of course also an entrance to the RVH. Widespread disruption is currently being endured by local people as the alert continues.
“While at this stage it is not clear who is responsible for the alert or if a device has been left I can say that local people are angry at this turn of events. It is important that the PSNI now move quickly to bring this incident to a safe conclusion.” ENDS
