McCann expresses outrage at attack on Cairde na hÉireann Offices
Sinn Fein’s Fra McCann has expressed outrage at the discovery of a parcel bomb addressed to the offices of the Cairde na hÉireann organisation in Glasgow.
Mr McCann said;
"For many years, Cairde have been at the forefront of highlighting and protesting the anti-Irish racism which exists in Scottish society, so it is a disgrace that a potentially lethal device was intended for their Glasgow office which could have been opened by any of the young people who staff the office and shop"."This discovery comes as part of the investigation into parcel bombs sent to Celtic manager Neil Lennon and others, and at this time people of influence should speak out, to condemn these actions, and to help to eradicate the sectarianism and racism which clearly exists, and is quietly tolerated by many within society in Scotland.”
