SF meet Ford over Nelson report
Commenting after a meeting this afternoon with the Justice Minister David Ford concerning matters raised by the Rosemary Nelson Report, Sinn Féin Assembly member John O’Dowd said:
“The Justice Minister met with me this afternoon at our request to discuss a range of issues raised by the recent report into the murder of Rosemary Nelson.
“The Minister has confirmed to me that he intends to study the report in detail and establish whether or not there are lessons to be learned and issues to act upon for his department.
“Despite the spin from the British government and former RUC Special Branch members in recent days the report makes grim reading for both of these agencies. Any impartial reading of the findings of the Nelson Report clearly shows that the Corey definition of collusion is met.
“I look forward to further discussions with the Justice Minister in the time ahead on the very serious matters raised by the Nelson Inquiry Report.” ENDS
