Sectarian graffiti at North Belfast school disgraceful – ní Chuilín

8 June, 2011 - by Carál Ní Chuilín

Sinn Féin MLA for North Carál ní Chuilín has branded the sectarian graffiti and vandalism at a North Belfast girls school, Little Flower, as vile.

Speaking this morning Ms ní Chuilín said:

"My office has contacted the school to offer practical support and to show our concern following this disgraceful graffiti being sprayed and the damage caused by vandalism during the attack.

“Speaking as a past pupil of Little Flower, the news of this overnight attack on the school is distressing and will certainly impact on the local community.

“We are extending our message of support to pupils, staff and parents and calling for a prompt investigation by the PSNI to hold those responsible to account for their disgraceful actions.

“Schools are at the heart of the community and can be an easy target when it comes to vandalism and offensive, vile graffiti like this.

“Hopefully this graffiti can be removed quickly and the school can return to normality”
