Visit to A&E at the RVH instructive - Sue Ramsey
Sinn Féin MLA Sue Ramsey said this morning’s visit to the Accident & Emergency department of the RVH by members of the Health Committee was very instructive.
Sue Ramsey, who is Chair of the Health Committee at the Assembly said:
“Management and staff at the A&E are doing their best to improve their service including extending the hours that consultants work and this can only have a positive impact on patient care.
“It was clear again today that problems highlighted over recent weeks came from blockages in other parts of the hospital, particularly in the admitting and discharging wards.
When there are problems in these areas, the impact is felt and seen in A&E.
“It is therefore essential that any solutions need to take this on board and encompass the whole hospital and the system operated throughout it.”
