Adams extends condolences to family of Máire MacSwiney Brugha

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams TD has extended his sympathies and condolences to the family of Máire MacSwiney Brugha who died in Dublin yesterday.

Deputy Adams said:
“It was with great sadness that I have heard the news of the death of Máire MacSwiney Brugha. On behalf of Sinn Féin I want to extend my sincere condolences and solidarity to her family, many friends and comrades."

"Máire MacSwiney Brugha was a lifelong republican, the only daughter of Irish patriot Terence MacSwiney who died after 73 days on hunger strike in Brixton Prison in London on 25 October 1920."

"Máire made her own individual contribution to political life on this island and at 94 years old has made her mark on the history of Ireland as a republican woman."

“My thoughts and sympathies are with her family and friends at this sad time."
