Flanagan to press Ulster Bank for answers

4 July, 2012 - by Phil Flanagan

Sinn Féin DETI Spokesperson, Phil Flanagan MLA has pledged to press Ulster Bank Management for clarification on what measures it is taking to resolve the current debacle affecting thousands of families and businesses.

Phil Flanagan said:

"After putting an Urgent Oral Question to Finance Minister Sammy Wilson today on the continuing crisis at Ulster Bank, it is clear that answers are still not forthcoming from Bank Management. We are no closer to a resolution to the problem.

"Representatives from Ulster Bank are to appear before the Enterprise, Trade & Investment Committee on Thursday morning. I intend to press them on the need for greater clarity on when they expect a resolution to this crisis.

"To date, the response from the Ulster Bank to this debacle has been less than satisfactory, it is imperative that as their technicians work to resolve this problem, that the Senior Management of Ulster Bank provide leadership and clarity to their customers through an adequate communication strategy."
