Bray ready for Katie’s gold medal fight: Cllr John Brady
Local Sinn Féin councillor, John Brady, says that Bray is ready for another great day tomorrow supporting Katie Taylor in her Olympic gold bid.
“We have two big screens set up and we are asking people to gather at the Shoreline Leisure Centre at 4pm tomorrow (Thursday). There will be entertainment laid on for the crowd and we are expecting a great turn out for the fight at 4.45pm.
“We are so proud of Katie, her trainers and her club. She has put the work in over the years and her community really wants to show their support and their pride in her. It gives an area a boost to have such a heroine.
“At the silver medal fight today, the atmosphere was electric here in Bray and it was wonderful to see 6,000 people turn out to cheer her on.
“The local Olympic Committee has worked hard to support Katie and her teammate Adam Nolan as well as trying to promote Bray and Wicklow as a whole. We are delighted with the boxers’ performances so far,” said Cllr Brady.
