PSNI Response To Attacks - Pathetic and Unacceptable
North Antrim Sinn Féin Assembly member Philip McGuigan has branded the PSNI response to ongoing murder attempts on Sinn Féin members in Ballymena 'as pathetic'.
Mr McGuigan said:
" Over the past number of weeks in Ballymena there have been countless acts of intimidation and a number of murder attempts on nationalists and Sinn Féin members in the town. There is absolutely no doubt that these attacks are being carried out by unionist paramilitaries in the area.
" It is an attempt to drive the nationalist population from the town and to intimidate Sinn Féin during the course of this election campaign
" The PSNI response has been to say that they are keeping 'an open mind' on the motivation behind the attacks. This response is pathetic, unacceptable and insults the intelligence of the broad nationalist and republican community in North Antrim and elsewhere." ENDS
