Sinn Féin MLA calls on input to Irish Language consultation
Sinn Féin MLA Rosie McCorley has called on people to make their views heard on a future Irish Language strategy
The West Belfast MLA and Sinn Féin Irish Language spokesperson said:
“The consultation on an Irish Language strategy initiated by Minister of Culture Carál Ní Chuilín ends on Tuesday and it is vital that supporters of the language have their voices heard.
“I would encourage everyone who are advocates for the language to maximise the response so that we achieve the most robust Irish language strategy possible.
“A commitment was made to introduce an Irish language strategy under the St Andrew’s agreement. The language is there for all and is not only a national treasure but continues to flourish through all the Gaelscoileanna (Irish Language schools) and much more.” CRÍOCH/END
