Adams expresses sadness on death of Sean Óg Ó Ceallacháin

17 February, 2013 - by Gerry Adams

Sinn Féin president, Gerry Adams TD has expressed sympathy to the family of Sean Óg Ó Ceallacháin who died today.

“The voice of Sean Óg Ó Ceallacháin  saying ‘Go mBeannaí Dia díobh go leir’  was synonomous with Sunday night for generations of us who followed GAA and who waited for his results programme with bated breath in days before instant results on the internet.

His career lasted over six decades and that he was still going strong up until his retirement in 2011. He excelled as a sportsman, commentator, gaelgoir and writer and he will be sadly missed by all who enjoyed his many talents.
