Derry to host major European Business Congress - Martina Anderson MEP
Sinn Féin MEP, Martina Anderson has welcomed the announcement that Derry is to host the European Business and Innovation Centre Network Congress (EBN) from May 29th - 31st.
Speaking from Brussels, Ms Anderson said;
"I am very pleased with this announcement having played a strong role in lobbying crucial support for the EBN Congress coming to Derry.
"World renowned international speakers and 500 plus attendees from across the EU and beyond will descend on Derry for this very prestigious event in the business calendar. They will be joined by other important players from EU Commissioners, seasoned CEOs, representatives from business innovation and incubation centres across Europe to representatives from businesses large and small including start-up entrepreneurs . Over 40 organisations will be exhibiting across the Digital, Social and Cultural Villages.
"The speaker line-up is unparalleled in Congress history. Derry will extend a very warm welcome to all delegates who will have an important opportunity to meet new contacts, make new friends and reacquaint with old colleagues. They will be able to network and collaborate with like-minded people while enjoying the buzz and atmosphere of the LegendDerry hospitality, entertainment, ceol agus craic during our year as City of Culture.
“This year’s Congress theme is ‘Innovation? – Just say "YES’ and the format has been modelled to focus on knowledge transfer –by giving delegates an opportunity to listen to world class speakers on the three innovation themes and on knowledge exchange through focused workshops and themed networking.
"The design of the EBN 2013 Congress Centre and the Innovation Villages will help EBN Congress delegates meet the right people. Whether you’re interested in meeting clients, customers or investors, Congress will have networking events to help you make that contact and develop a valuable network of business leads from across Europe."
