Adams welcomes decision by Finance Minister on Narrow Water Bridge
Sinn Féin President and Louth TD Gerry Adams has welcomed the decision by Finance Minister Sammy Wilson to clear the way for the Narrow Water Bridge project to go ahead.
Teachta Adams said:
“This is an important decision by Sammy Wilson. It removes a significant impediment to efforts to progress the construction of the bridge.
“The bridge project now has the overwhelming support of the two governments, local councils and business and community groups on both sides of the border.
“The onus is now on the Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy to clear the way for an infra-structure project that will create much needed jobs in the construction industry, in tourism, and in the haulage industry.
“The Narrow Water Bridge is a crucial investment project that can significantly enhance the local economies of communities on both sides of the border.”
