Sinn Féin MLA Carál Ní Chuilín said local soccer club Cliftonville being drawn against Celtic in the Champions League is a dream draw for the Reds and local Celtic fans.

The North Belfast MLA said:

“This is really exciting news that Cliftonville have been drawn against Glasgow Celtic in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.

“This will be a fantastic celebration of soccer between two clubs who have already built up a good relationship over the years. Cliftonville are a great community club with a vision for the future that has North Belfast at its heart.

“There’ll be huge interest in this tie given the Irish diaspora in Scotland combined with the support for the club in Ireland. I will of course be cheering on the Reds but win or lose this is the tie Cliftonville and their fans only dreamed of.”
