Fáiltíonn Sinn Féin roimh cinneadh Foras na Gaeilge

11 July, 2013 - by Carál Ní Chuilín

Fáiltíonn Sinn Féin leis an cinneadh chun glacadh le hathstruchtúrú heagrais bun-mhaoinithe atá ar bun ag Foras Na Gaeilge.
Tugann an cinneadh seo soiléireacht agus cinnteacht ar todhchaí na heagrais bun-mhaoinithe. Is céim dearfach é i dtreo forbairt agus caomhnú na Gaeilge go náisiúnta.
Tá sé soiléir ón easpa maoiniú den earnáil Ghaeilge mar aon leis na ciorraithe le maoiniú Foras na Gaeilge uaidh an rialtas ó Dheas, nach bhfuil siad ag tabhairt an leibhéil tiomantais ceanna go dtí forbairt an Ghaeilge mar atá léirithe ag Sinn Féin ó Thuaidh.
Ag eirí as próiseas comhairliúcháin a bhí ag Sinn Fein leis na heagrais bun-mhaoinithe, cuireadh moltaí ar aghaidh chuig Foras na Gaeilge i 2012. Chuir Sinn Féin in iúl don Fhoras gur chóir go mbeadh an t-athstruchtúrú bunaithe ar phrionsabail fhónta pleanáil teanga agus é curtha i gcomhthéacs phlean 2030.
Bhí an tAire Caral Ní Chuilinn ag cíoradh an cheist le fada agus ag iarraidh a chinntiú go mbeadh toradh dearfach ann a láidreoidh agus a thacóidh le heagrais atá i mbun forbairt an Ghaeilge ar fuaid na tíre.
Tugann Sinn Féin tacaíocht i gcónaí de gach eagraíocht atá ag forbairt na teanga agus Leanfar leis an tacaíocht seo a chur ar fáil. Is toradh dearfach é go bhfuil an cinneadh seo glactha agus gur féidir aghaidh a thabhairt ar thodhchaí forbairt na Gaeilge anois.

Sinn Féin welcomes funding for Irish language groups

Sinn Féin welcomes Foras na Gaeilge’s restructuring of core-funded Irish language groups, providing more clarity for their future. It is a positive step towards the development and nurturing of the Irish language across the island.
Sinn Féin recognises that the Irish Government has cut funding Foras na Gaeilge and is clearly not committed to the development of the Irish language.
Caral Ní Chuilinn, Sinn Féin minister for arts, culture and leisure in the North, has not cut funding to Foras na Gaeilge and was instrumental in negotiating the best outcome for the core-funded organisations.
In April 2012, after consultation with language groups, Sinn Féin made a submission to Foras na Gaeilge’s review. It was argued that the restructuring should be based on sound language planning principles and put in context of the 2030 language strategy.
Minister Caral Ní Chuilinn has worked to ensure that the result would be a positive one which will strengthen and support the organisations in their development of the language throughout the country.
Sinn Féin is committed to our language and will continue to engage with any organisations committed to the future of Irish. This restructuring is a positive outcome and now we can move forward and secure the future of the Irish language.
