Concerns grow over condition of Moore Street National Monument

The Oireachtas all-party group on Moore Street, having visited the Moore Street battlefield site today, has requested an urgent meeting with Minister Jimmy Deenihan due to its deep concern at the condition of the national monument and environs.

Deputy Adams said:

“It is a disgrace that such a significant battlefield site should be allowed to fall into this terrible condition.

“We now are now requesting an urgent meeting with Minister Jimmy Deenihan as we have deep concerns about the condition of the national monument and its environs.”

Those who visited the site were: Gerry Adams, Sandra McLellan, Joe Costello, Emer Costello, Mary Lou McDonald, Maureen O'Sullivan and structural engineer Austin Broderick.
