Adams welcomes announcement of redress for victims of Neary
Sinn Féin President and Louth TD Gerry Adams has said Health Minister James Reilly’s announcement of a redress scheme for women who were excluded from the redress scheme for victims of disgraced former consultant Michael Neary is to be welcomed.
However, Deputy Adams said he awaits the detail of the redress scheme and the outcome of the meeting with Minister Reilly and Patient Focus this evening.
Speaking this afternoon Deputy Adams said;
“Of course these women should have access to redress. It is wrong that they were excluded from the original scheme.
“I welcome the minister’s announcement but I await the details of the redress scheme and the outcome of the meeting with Minister Reilly and Patient Focus this evening.”
