Cut to care at Stewart's Hospital is scandalous - Ó Caoláin

31 July, 2013 - by Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD

Sinn Féin Health spokesperson Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD has condemned the cut to services for young adults with profound disabilities at Stewart's Hospital in Palmerstown, Dublin. He said:
"The latest cut to services for people with disabilities is scandalous as the families of young adults with profound disabilities are being told there will be no service for them at Stewart's Hospital,Palmerstown.
“This cut imposed by the Department of Health and the HSE
once again targets the most vulnerable. Inadequate funding and
staffing due to these cuts will see 11 families deprived of vital
care at this facility.
“Minister Reilly may pay lipservice to people with disabilities and their families but the reality is he is enforcing a heartless policy of cuts." ENDS
