Sinn Féin - On Your Side

Congratulations to those receiving A'Level results

15 August, 2013 - by Chris Hazzard

Sinn Féin Education spokesperson Chris Hazzard has congratulated everyone on their A ‘Level results and said that they shouldn’t rush into decisions they may regret later.

 Mr. Hazzard said,

“There will be many people today receiving their A ‘Level results and they should all be congratulated for their hard work.  However I would urge people to explore all their options before committing to one that they may regret later.

“There are many paths to a successful career so people who have not achieved the grades to get into university shouldn’t despair.  I would encourage everyone whether they have achieved their desired grades or not to speak to their careers teachers and parents before moving on.

“There are many options apart from going to university such as courses within Further Education colleges, apprenticeships or getting employment to name a few.

“The cost of university is also proving problematic with many people being put off with the spiralling costs of attending a third level institution and Sinn Féin has argued that these need to be addressed if universities are to remain a viable option for students from low income families.”
