'In Common Cause' - US and Irish trade union links to be remembered at Dublin 1913 Lockout rally
Sinn Féin will hold a major rally in the Mansion on October 23rd to mark the links between the Irish and USA labour movements as part of the Party's 100th Anniversary 1913 Lockout commemorative events.
The rally, under the title 'In Common Cause' will include music and pageantry and will be addressed by Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams and by trade union leaders from the United States of America and Ireland.
The leaders of the Lockout, James Connolly and Jim Larkin, sought support and solidarity from America for the strike and both worked as trade union officials in the US.
To acknowledge that and to demonstrate the ties between our countries, join us in Dublin's Mansion House on October 23rd, to celebrate the spirit of the men and women who built the labour movement here and in America and show your support for that continued struggle.
