Ó Caoláin urges eleventh hour intervention by health minister in Junior Doctor dispute
Sinn Féin spokesperson on health, Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD has appealed to James Reilly to exercise his position, as minister for health and former IMO president, to make an eleventh hour intervention to avoid tomorrow's planned industrial action by Junior Doctors.
Speaking today Deputy Ó Caoláin said:
“James Reilly, as current minister for health and former president of the Irish Medical Organisation, is uniquely positioned in the current dispute between Junior Doctors and the HSE regarding working hours and conditions.
“I am making an appeal to him to use that position to make an eleventh hour intervention, personally, in an effort to overcome the difficulties that still remain within the negotiations and to avert the now signaled strike action by Junior Doctors scheduled to commence tomorrow.” ENDS
