O'Neill pledges support for McGirr and Campbell families
Sinn Féin Mid-Ulster MLA Michelle O'Neill has pledged her support and that of Sinn Féin to the families of Colm McGirr and Brian Campbell - two IRA Volunteers who were shot dead by members of Britain's SAS in 1983.Michelle O'Neill said:
"I wish to assure the McGirr and Campbell families of the full support of myself and Sinn Féin in their quest for the truth about the killings of their loved ones.
"The confirmation that Colm and Brian were shot in the back when ambushed by the SAS will only have increased the grief of the families and I support them in their determination to uncover the truth about the circumstances of their loved ones deaths.
"I also condemn in the strongest way possible the grotesquely insensitive remarks of so-called Victims Campaigner, Willie Frazer, who does no credit to the cause that he purports to serve, by these remarks."
