"£134 million school scheme will boost construction industry
Sinn Féin Enterprise Spokesperson, Phil Flanagan said the announcement of a £134m cash injection into refurbishing schools was a good day for education and a boost to the construction industry.
“The Education Minister’s announcement of 51 school refurbishment projects worth in the region of £134million is great news for schools but is also a timely boost for the construction industry,” said the Fermanagh MLA
Mr Flanagan said:
"Schools right across the North will ultimately benefit from the school refurbishment programme.
“But just as importantly it will also provide a much-needed financial injection for the construction sector and the local economy.
"The construction sector bore the brunt of the recent economic downturn. These school projects, worth between £500,000 and £4million, and spread across the region will present opportunities for local companies and suppliers."
