Cathal King hands in nomination papers for Dublin South West by-election
Sinn Féin Councillor Cathal King this morning handed in his nomination papers for the Dublin South West by-election. He was proposed by party colleague Seán Crowe TD, who is his campaign manager.
Councillor King said;
“I am very proud to contest this election for Sinn Féin and to seek to represent the people of Dublin South West in the Dáil. Now, more than ever there is a need for strong voices to stand up for the people of this community. We have all paid a very high price for bad decisions made by Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Labour over the last seven years.
“There is huge anger out there at high unemployment levels, a chronic housing shortage, rising rents and government attempts to introduce water charges. Water charges are a bill too far for many families who have nothing left to give. Our position on this is straight-forward – Sinn Féin is opposed to water charges. Sinn Féin blocked water charges in the North. Sinn Féin will reverse water charges in government.
“People feel let down by the establishment parties and want change. Earlier in the year, people came out in their thousands and made Sinn Féin the largest party in this constituency. We are asking them to continue to make the change by voting Sinn Féin on October 10th.”
